Designed to be a showpiece, this new 45,000 square foot office building was constructed for Union Savings Bank of Danbury. The building features a three stop elevator, atrium area, terrazzo floors, a marble water fountain, interior clock, and a 25 foot circular skylight. The project included a specially designed waffle footing to provide support on unfavorable soil conditions.
Because the site was located between two existing buildings on Main Street, the staging area was extremely limited and highlighted Caldwell & Walsh's efficient site management. Once the shell was complete and spaces leased, the interior fit-ups were performed. Subsequent to these projects, Caldwell & Walsh was contracted by this client for the new construction and renovations of other Union Savings Bank branches in the Greater Danbury area.
