This new state-of-the-art organic chemistry laboratory offers greater space for research by faculty and students and upgraded safety features. The renovated laboratory on the 7th floor of the Altschul Hall science building allows students to conduct a wider range of experiments and will accommodate larger-size classes.
The 6,500 square foot laboratory and associated offices are outfitted with maple casework and architectural glass. New HVAC equipment on the 14th floor supplies the seventh floor, and seventeen Air Sentry reduced flow fume hoods were installed. These hoods are designed to operate with exhaust volumes as low as 50% less than conventional fume hoods and can provide the owner with significant initial capital construction cost savings and operating cost savings along with a safer environment.
