Weill Medical College of Cornell University is among the top-ranked clinical and medical research centers in the country. The Department of Physiology is a 24,000 square foot renovation spanning five buildings on two floors of the Medical School. The project reorganized the department, dividing the wet lab and dry lab spaces. The dry labs are computer intensive research facilities, and the wet labs are an open loft arrangement with specialty rooms adjoining. The corridor that spans the project has been turned into a space that creates an identity for the Department, distinguishing the wet lab and dry lab components through different materials that are united by a sculptural ceiling.
