Bet Am Shalom Synagogue
White Plains, NY

After this synagogue was damaged by a devastating fire, Caldwell & Walsh served as Construction Manager for this multi-phased restoration and addition. The first and second phases encompassed 8,000 square feet of temporary facilities including a pantry, restrooms, security system, and replacement of all mechanical, electrical and finish work damaged by water and smoke from the fire. This work was completed within twelve weeks.

The second phase consisted of the complete reconstruction of a three story, 15,000 square foot stone mansion and a new two-story addition. The steel frame and wood timber structure housed the new chapel, administrative offices, libraries, activity rooms, toilet facilities, kitchen and classrooms. All of the mechanical and electrical systems were replaced along with the roof and most of the windows. Caldwell & Walsh worked with the owner and design team to refurbish some of the original windows, doors, and stone details which brought historic character back to the building.

In the third phase of work, Caldwell & Walsh provided construction management services for a 20,000 square foot addition. Construction commenced in the spring of 2005.
