Emergency Response
When Norco experienced a roof collapse on an existing facility, the
structural engineer immediately referred us to Norco. They had a major problem: in addition to needing a new building, there was essential material at the heart of the rubble; products that customers and suppliers were counting on receiving quickly. Conventional wisdom said it would take weeks for safe recovery, during which the material would suffer ongoing damage from exposure to the elements. We told them they could gain access within days and, in addition, they could move into a newly designed and constructed facility within three months.

We developed a unique tunnel solution, seen here, that allowed safe recovery within days. A major challenge was maintaining safety–
there were workers on the roof and in the tunnels taking out product, while others were disassembling the roof structure and walls. Also, the site is up on a cliff and adjacent to a river, with very limited access to the perimeter of the building. That winter had many heavy snowfalls and consistently cold temperatures. Despite these obstacles, the material was recovered in an amazing time frame and we attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the new facility–as promised–within three months.
